Anthropic files to go public

Anthropic filed its S-1 on Oct 26 to list on Nasdaq as "ANT." No price range yet. Revenue for the six months to June was $16.29B, CNBC says. Not financial advice.

Why it's trending

It's one of the most watched AI listings yet, and it moved the whole market on Monday. Chip stocks climbed and the Nasdaq rose 0.82% as the filing landed, CNBC reports. "This is a big confidence booster," Jay Woods of Freedom Capital Markets told CNBC.

What the filing shows

Revenue for the six months ended June was $16.29 billion, up from $1.16 billion a year earlier, per CNBC's read of the S-1. Control stays tight: the seven co-founders hold 50.1% of voting power through a Founder LLC, and a Long-Term Benefit Trust holding a special class of stock elects a majority of the board, CNBC says. That makes Anthropic a "controlled company" under Nasdaq rules. The filing also runs more than 90 pages of risk factors, so read the full S-1 on SEC EDGAR rather than summaries.

What happens next

Usually a company sets a price range in an amended filing, holds a roadshow with investors, then prices the deal the night before trading starts. None of those dates are public yet. We'll update this page when the range is filed.
