What Wall Street is watching
Spending on AI. Reuters says the four largest cloud companies are on track for roughly $800 billion of capital spending, and investors want to see that money turning into revenue. Nerves showed last Thursday, when the Nasdaq had its worst session since June, CNBC notes. So far about 83% of companies that have reported beat estimates, per FactSet data cited by CNBC.
The Fed piece
The Fed raised rates in September. Futures pricing shows less than a 10% chance of another hike on Wednesday but about an 80% chance by December, Reuters reports, so Warsh's press conference may move markets as much as the decision itself.
