iPhone Duo arrives Friday
Apple's first foldable ($1,999 for 256GB) opened for pre-order on Oct 16 and lands Friday, Oct 23, with a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 5.4-inch outer one. MacRumors says pre-order wait times are already significant.
The quick version
iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable iPhone. Pre-orders opened October 16, 2026, and it goes on sale Friday, October 23 in the U.S. and more than 70 other countries. It starts at $1,999 for 256GB, opens from a 5.4-inch outer screen to a 7.6-inch inner one, and runs the same A20 Pro chip as the iPhone 18 Pro.

What you give up
MacRumors counted almost 40 trade-offs versus the iPhone 18 Pro. The big ones: no Face ID (Touch ID instead), no Action button, no dedicated telephoto camera (2x is the longest optical-quality zoom), a visible crease in some light, and pricier repairs. Battery is rated up to 24 hours of typical use, matching the smaller Pro but short of the Pro Max's 30. It also costs $800 more than an 18 Pro at the same storage.
Who it's for
If you'd unfold it every day to read, split two apps side by side, edit photos or watch video, the Duo makes a real case for itself. If you mostly live on the outer screen or care about zoom photos, the 18 Pro is the better deal. Try one in a store first, closed and open.
Launch-week tips
MacRumors reports pre-order wait times are already significant. Apple offers trade-in credit of $175 to $885 for an iPhone 13 or newer, and the Apple Upgrade lease starts at $57.99 a month. Check delivery dates at checkout before you count on one for Friday.
