The Zelda Switch 2 is the one everybody wants
By The Trends Incoming team
Nintendo finally did it. The first special-edition Switch 2 is a Zelda one, and it lands October 29, 2026. It got revealed in the 40th Anniversary Direct on September 8. US pre-orders went poof almost instantly.
| Release | October 29, 2026 |
|---|---|
| US price | $519.99, which is $20 more than a standard Switch 2 |
| Matching Pro Controller | $99.99, or $109.99 with a display stand |
| Game in the box? | Nope. Ocarina of Time (Nov 5) is separate. |
What the extra $20 gets you: a Triforce dock, green and gold Joy-Con 2, and a patterned back. Specs are identical to every other Switch 2. Our take? If you were buying a Switch 2 anyway, this is the one. If you already own one, the controller is the cheaper flex.
Stock is the real boss fight. Several US retailers showed it sold out in early October, so check Nintendo's store and big-box sites on launch morning.
